Im am looking for a mustang II, and i found one near where i live and i was wondering if it is worth buying or i should keep looking. I want a V8 manual car, and i found this1978 hatchback that is black and has a 302 out of an 85 Ford ltd, it was originally a manual car and now has a C4 in it. It is in pretty good shape, the only things wrong with it is it has a little rust at the bottom of the Quarter panels, but nothing major, but my main concern is that the entire piece going across the front that holds the radiator and the hood on has been cut out. The guy has another one that come with the car to weld in, but as of now the radiator is tied in with rope, and has the hood held down with hood pins. He wants 1200 for the car, should i buy it and weld it back together, or should i keep looking?

Don't forget to poke your head under the bottom side and make sure the frame rails and floors are solid. I would be careful with the fact another motor was put into it, some people short cut things. Did he say why he cut out the radiator support. It is hard to tell ya wether to buy it or not without seeing it but I would say if everything checks out for it talk him down a lil and buy it.

everything under the car was clean and rust free. the man that has it now didnt cut the radiator out, but he has drove the thing with the radiator tied in for a few years (something i would not feel comfortable with but whatever) and the quarter panels are the only place with a little rust, the rust is about the size of a nickel on one side and a quarter on the other.
