ok there are a few things this could be. One check you timing AND you vaccum advance. Use a timing light for your timing and to check your vac. advance jut disconnect the vaccum hose from the advance plug the hose and run the car and see if there is an improvement. If there is no improvement plug it back up, if it improves attach the hose back to the advance and disconnect it from the carb and then suck on it see if the diaphram broke (this happened to me). Also check for any major exhaust leaks (normally you will have a high idle and a whistleing noise). There might be something wrong with the carb itself such as a cloged jet or something as simple as a cloged needle valve that is not letting in enough fuel to the carborator. Well there is at least a little to help. I had a similar problem on my 74 and it was the vaccum advance on the distributor took me 2 weeks to diagnose and about 30 minutes to fix.
