Default how different is a 79 fox V8?

how different is my 1978 302 with the one in the first year of the fox? I am looking for some various things and its a little hard to find parts for my V8 II, but i know where some 79 V8's are.

I'm sure there is not much difference between the 78 and the 79 302 even though the model changed. I can't imagine what there is about your 302 that you cannot find. They are all so similar, popular and numerous.

However, by 79 they may have been building the Fox Body Mustang with a little more poop than the smog/oil shortage era Mustang II.

Some 79 V8 got D8 heads, some got D9 heads, but there might not be much differences ... same camshaft (D6), same pistons (D8) and same blocks (D8).

79-85 Specs.

The engine and tranny is interchangable. What are you looking to do?

The 1979 mustang DID come with more horsepower 140 but after that in 1980-1981 they dropped the 302 for a 255 cu (4.2l) that only produced 120 horsepower which is btw the lowest horsepower v8 engine in mustang history. So watch it and make sure what year and motor it is you might be getting off worse then better not poking fun or trying to make anyone mad just hate to see someone get something they did not expect.
