Default 1978 Mustang II 2.3 runs like crap. help?

I have a 1978 II with 4cyl. that runs rough. What can I remove from the carb and still have it run OK?

You could try a can of Sea Foam -- You can get it at pretty much any auto parts store -- Take the air cleaner cover off exposing the carb -- start the car -- dump the sea foam into the carb -- its gonna smoke like crazy and it might stall out if you pour it in too much too fast -- but once its all done you should notice a big improvement.

If that doesnt help - maybe a good old fashion tune up is in order.

It has a vacuum leak below the carb on the back side of the intake.

Personally if it was me I would buy the intake gasket and such and just replace them make sure nothing is cracked or missing. A vaccum leak can cause it to run badly.
