Default new owner

Hi.
I am a new owner of my first Mustang - a 1978 coupe (2.8L, V6, C3), and was wondering if I should be considering an engine swap? I am pretty handy with mechanics, but have not modified a car before. I hear that a 302 should not be too much trouble to put into it? Has anyone tried that, and do you have some basic hints... (or is there a better option)
