I've had great luck with "NeverDull" - comes in a silver can. Appears to be a wool media with imbedded cleaning chemicals. Works well and usually leaves a protective finish.

Have you tried the Mother's powerball, or the Flitz ball? They hook to your drill to do the polishing. My stang doesn't have any chrome to polish so I'm no expert, but those products might be worth a look...

Neverdull (by Eagle One) is fantastic for getting light dirt, water spots, light rust, etc. off of your chrome while polishing it at the same time! A piece about the size of a cotton ball (it's sold in a can and is in a wool wadding) will do ALL FOUR of my 16x7 chrome pony wheels on my '87 convertible!!! When I bought the car one of them had some baked on brake dust and the beginnings of rust, all four now shine brilliantly.
