I have a 1976 Cobra II with the V6 engine. i would like to switch to a 302, but keep a manuel transmission. Is this possible and if it is which transmission do I use? Also how many modifacations am I going to have to do?

The swap you are planning is not that hard. I did it many years back while in high school and I am spooling up to do it again. The v6 four speed will actually work. It will bolt to the v8 bell housing. Now with that said I will warn you, if your V8 has any real power and you drive agressively the tranny wont last. I blew out second gear on mine after about a year. This was with very spirited driving ofcourse. My father did this swap in his 1976 Cobra and it is still going strong. A flywheel, clutch, and bell housing for a V8 mustang II are all that is required. Good luck.
