Default efi and c4 swap

i am buying a 76 cobra II.
It has the 302 and rad4 trans.
Well i got ahold of a 87 lincoln with the efi 302.
And then i also got a c4 trans.
well i want to know if i will have a problem mating the c4 trans to the 89 motor (not the orig. one)

Not really. The EFI computer wants a VSS signal but you can get a adapter for that.

The hardest two things to do when swapping in an EFI engine are fitting the wiring harness/ECU and having O2 sensor bungs installed in your exhaust pipes or headers. Neither is undoable. You will need to reuse your Mustang II oil pan and oil pump pickup though. (as well as whichever manifolds or headers you are currently using).

The VSS tells the computer how fast your moving and you can run without that signal but the car won't settle down on idle because it thinks the car is still moving and will keep the IAC open. The VSS is used for Cruise which you probably careless about but it also seems to control the slow speed timing also. You can get a VSS that goes between your transmission and the speedometer cable.

You'll need a TCI flexplate from summit ($60) because ford never made a 5.0/C4 flexplate AFAIK. Has to be 50oz and 157 tooth IIRC

What ECU are you looking for. I have a modified Speed Density ECU which I was going to convert my car from MAS to SD to rid myself of the meter, but changed my mind because the Speed Density computer I have has been modified internally for more timing and such and it just will not work with my supercharger.

Just to let you and everyone else here know, you are wrong. What you have to do is get the stock mII flexplate rebalanced because it is smaller then any tci sells. There is one place i know opf that sells a 50 oz one that will fit, but i cant' think of the place. And also ford has made plenty 5.o/c4 flexplates.
