What kind of adjustment? The inner tie rods are part of the rack, so they'll allow alignment adjustment, but that's the only one I know of.

There are no adjustments on the rack-n-pinion except for the inner tie rods for alignment.

Exclamation Vacuum Diagram

Hello Everyone,

I am currently in search of a VACUUM DIAGRAM (not just the air conditioning) for a 78 Mustang II. I am looking for this for a friend. They have checked Chilton's books etc. I believe it is a 4 cyl. engine. Any help would be appreciated.

- Thanks

There isn't an adjustment like conventional steering boxes where you have a bolt and lock nut to take up play. If you have play you have to replace the rack. However make sure it is your rack. Could be mounting bushings for the rack, tie rod ends or ball joints. Look under the car from the front with it on the ground and have someone saw the steering wheel back and forth to see where the play is. You should be able to see it clearly.
