Easy to switch but usually hard to find the pedals and clutch hard parts.

Not to hard. Just go to the junkyard for the pedals and get you a T5. The T5's usually run about $350 tp $450 dollars. The pedals will run you about $45.00 in the junk yard. Autozone has the clutch fork, clutch with pressure plate and the flywheel. Everything together will run you close to a $1000 dollar. More if someone else does the work. An AODE maybe a better option for you.

Well here in El Paso, they are everywhere. C&M matel salvage just crushed 5 of them last week.

I know. There is a junk yard here that has around 12 of them. Mostly complete except the engine. Harrison 06 there are a set of pedals on Ebay for $10.00.

See my thead dumping the c3 in favor of a t5. Your going to have the same problem with the shifter location. 1st, 3rd and 5th will smash your knuckles against the radio. Except for the v8 particulars, everything else is the same.

He will not have that problem knuckle smaching with a T5. T5 is almost 1 1/5 longer than that C3 and C4. Plus he can go with a short throw shifter. But Harrison 06 needs to remember that with the T5 he is going to have to cut the transmission hump back about 2 inches to get that tranny in.

The problem isn't the overall length, The shifter on the stock rad 4 speed is all the way at the end of the tail shaft. The T5 has the shifter fowards of the end of the tail shaft. Yes I did have to shorten the drive shaft 2", but I had to cut the shifter opening up 4" to get it to fit and the shifter hit the radio, even with a hurst short throw shifter. Look at my pictures you can see it. I just did the conversion. The measurments would be the same if you had a V8 car or 4 banger. The posts that say you only need to cut 1/2" are talking about fox bodied cars, not Mustang II's. You might be able to bend the shifter shaft back, but you can't use the stock console any more. I wanted it to look stock on the inside. I didn't have to anything to the tunnel, clears just fine.
