Default 1976 Mustang sputters

hello guys ive had a 1976 v6 mustang corba ii laying in my yard for about 5 years.Ive rebuilt the carb and inspected all the motors internals and there all clean and good to go.It starts up fine but when i take it for a drive and give it more gas it boggs down..is it the timing? any help would be nice

It could be a problem with the timing, or you could have a problem with the air/fuel mixture in the carburetor. Both could cause it to sputter.

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)

how would i fix the air/fuel problum?

Well, there are two screws on the front of the carburetor to adjust your air/fuel mixture at idle, there's the choke on the side of the carburetor that could need adjusting, you may need to adjust the linkage to another hole in the arm on the accelerator pump (if yours has more than one hole) there are several things that could cause it.

also r u sure u have the vaccum hose from the distributor to the carburetor connected? that hose advances or retards the timing as needed.

I would be leaning more towards an air fuel mixture or something along that lines. When my vaccum advance went the car poped and sputtered not bog. But hey sometimes it is the least expected thing.

I had the same problem ...changed the egr valve and that was the problem...good luck
