Default help with a drivetrain swap?

im just wondering if swapping out an engine transmission and rear end is something a few guys with some car knowledge could do themselves or not? i have access to some tools, and know a couple mechanics. but it would be me and friends doing the work probably, and i would have access to a mechanic should the need arise.

is that a reasonable thing to do? or what would you guys recommend i do?

I do it all the time... but I'm a former technician and former parts counterperson with several different certifications in the automotive industry (including an ASE Certification, Carquest Technical Institute Certification, Fel-pro and Dayco Product certifications... (that's just my four I brag about, got a few more) It's nothing big for me, just time consuming and difficult with what little space I'm working out of.

well this is like 2 guys with high school car class work, and a general knowledge of engines. but we are fortunate enough to know how to do something if instructed properly.
