Default 1978 Mustang II Replacement Parts From Other Cars?

i have a '78 mustang II and i want to know if there is a car around with a lot of swappable parts for it.

key items:
-302
-c4 or other 4 speed manual transmission
-5 lug axels
-posi rear end
-possible different brakes
-maybe even nice 5 lug rims, but i'll prolly buy 17" cobras.

just curious if something like that exists. oh, and any car with the whole drivetrain combo, that would be killer.

-302 You're in luck here, all of the 302s will fit... provided you have a Mustang II specific oil pan, pickup tube, motor mounts, frame mounts, and exhaust manifolds or headers.

-C4 transmission, any C4 will fit, but you'll need the Mustang II specific bellhousing and converter

-Brakes are better, late 70s Granadas had 5 lug rotors that fit Mustang II spindles, and they're 11" instead of 9", but you'll need special caliper brackets (available online) and GM calipers (I believe from a Camaro or Monte Carlo, but not sure).

-Axles can be re-drilled cheaply at any machine shop, as can the rear drums

I know... kinda bleak, I spent 5 years gathering V8 swap parts for my 2.3L II and after spending over $800.... I bought a running and driving V8 Mustang II for $1000... you'll probably be better off doing the same, but don't let me dissuade you if the swap is the way you want to go!

i am definately gung ho on the idea of swapping. just for the fact the car is in mint condition, no rust, 55000 miles on it. and did they make granadas with 302 c4? if so how much do you think it would cost for a running POS?

thanks

302/C4 Granadas were out there, but they were far less common than their straight-six running brethren. It really doesn't matter what car the 302 and C4 come out of, you'll either have to get the Mustang II specific pieces to make them fit, or spend some time with a hammer, welder, torch, etc.
