Question 1977 Mustang II Heat and Fuel Problems?

OK, so I have had this Stang II for 4 months now and am still having heat/fuel problems???

Less than 100,000 original miles on the original 302 2 bbl auto
Compression very good on all pistons
Replaced radiator with a heavy duty recore excellent job and keeping water temp within specs 180 thermostat is working.
SO... I drive the car for 25 miles and it gets vapor locked or boils the fuel. Rebuilt carb, and distributor. New plugs and wires Motorcraft.
Just did oil change again, oil was clean with no water in it. 50/50 mix of water antifreeze clean no oil or gas in it. Just installed new fuel pump and lines , working perfectly. Drive the car tonight in 85 degrees and all seems fine. Park for 1/2 hour and of coarse heat builds up under hood. Start car, a little tuff and then drive 1 mile later same problem temp is good all is working but car is stumbling, made it home. I parked the stang lift the hood and can hear the gas bubbling and surging in the carb while the engine is off. What am I missing.

Please no guessing, this is getting expensive and me nowhere anyone have a clue???????????????????

Question

I doubt the gas is actually boiling, but let's start with this.

To me it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. What you may be hearing is air in the float bowl escaping from the fuel line.

When you rebuilt the fuel system did you drop the tank and clean out the sock and check for rust and debris?

Not yet, that is comming next $$$.

But yes the gas is BOILING, I had put a large clear inline fuel filter on for a couple days and after parking the vehicle would watch as the fuel would rise and begin to bubble the heat buildup under the hood is incredable. That is when I added the functional hood scoop with 14" diameter hole cut in hood to try to let some heat escape helped but not a fix. Fuel presure is a healthy 6-9lbs. until the heat builds up then drops to 1-3lbs once the heat builds up. Next step today is to remove the plastic fresh air box running down the inside of the passenger side inner fender, its taking up cooling space and probably doesn't bring in any fresh air until highway speeds which the car does not see that often and I am not running the factory air cleaner anyway.

Need more input...

I'm at a loss, my similar '76 Ghia doesn't do it, she's bone stock except for NO fan shroud (which certainly isn't a good idea, just wasn't there when I bought the car) and runs fine and dandy every time so far... something isn't adding up... Can you take a pic of the fuel pump side of the engine and post it? Just want to see if there is any less-than-obvious solution I may be able to point out...

Hummm...read about the lines being too close to the exhaust manifold, but no personal experience here.

IF the temp is actually at 180 and then you seem to GAIN heat, there is something you've overlooked.
