Default 1974 Mustang II, V6 to V8 swap in a Ghia

Greeting all,
I'm a new here and it looks like I'm getting a 74 Ghia w/ AT for my Daughter to Drive. Currently it's not running... was over-heated so I've got some work to do. No problem. I expect that only the heads will need re-surfascing. What are your experiences with overheated v6s?

If this car survives my daughter then I'd like to drop in a 5L and T5. Other than the obvious (motor and trans mount relocation) what other issues can I expect to run into?

Being a '74 you'll run into the fact that it isn't designed for a V8. You'll need to brace the front subframes where they connect to the floorpan for added strength, and cut out the middle of the radiator support and move the radiator you run (V6 one just might cut it for a stock V8, but I'd upgrade if it were mine) to the front side of the support for a V8 to fit (means giving up A/C if it has it) the '75 and later cars had several design changes to make a V8 fit, they're subtle from the outside, but when you open the hood they're obvious (found this out when I bought my '76 and parked it next to my '74)

1976 Ford Mustang II Ghia: 302 with a 600cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer 289 intake, Dynomax Blackjack headers, 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44s. RJS 11-gallon fuel cell, C4 tranny, chrome 16" pony wheels, fuzzy dice, brown vinyl half-top, and painted in the tackiest color ever (harvest gold, that's why I call it "The Goldenrod").

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)
