Well, good thing you're having to move anyway!
You could call the county and have them come out and cut down the unsightly trees and grind up the stumps (they won't WANT to do this, but they will if you yell at them).
They do the same darn thing here in the south now, and in the rural areas they use the nasty chain arms that fracture the trees into splinters, leaving a result that resembles some Governator movie.

They butchered my trees!!!!! They didn’t simply prune 6-10 feet from the lines and make sure any “dangerous” limbs were taken care of, they cut every branch on the road side of my trees off to the main body of the tree.
Needless to say I am quite upset. I went out and talked to them and asked them what the heck they were doing and if it was the first time they had pruned a tree. The guy cutting of course said he had to do what he did and that the tree was still “healthy” and had a canopy to it.
I laughed at him and pointed at the tree and showed him that half the tree was gone and it looked like garbage. I said the tree should have some sort of symmetry and that we lived here and had to now have ugly unbalanced trees in our front yard. I asked him if they were going to just take the whole trees, and he said no.
So we talked some more and he finally conceded that it didn’t look very good and he agreed to now do some pruning on the opposite sides to even it out as best he could. But I am still going to be left with some ugly trees.
Now I KNOW they didn’t need to butcher these trees like this because up until this past year I did the pruning myself. And I always kept the lines clear and the tree had a full even canopy.
These idiots did the same thing though all the way down the street.
And to add insult to injury, the guy cutting took out our lamp out by the road (lamp on post). So he is going to have to go buy us a new one to replace it.
What the heck is wrong with people? Don’t they take pride in their jobs and care about others at all? I asked him if he would like these trees on his property as they looked now and he said “No, I would cut them down since they are a hazard”. HAZARD?!?!?! My trees were beautiful. And they never posed a “hazard” aside from the minor pruning they actually needed to do to keep the lines clear.
This kid doing the cutting was also quite young. He could not have been over 25.
Sorry if this is a bit disjointed, it is just aggravating….. to the extreme. |
