Yup, down here in S. FL window tint is defenitley a must in the hot summer months, but in certain cities they crack down on tint as much as they do the war on drugs. Practically every patrollman is equipped with with that little meter they slip over youre window to detect the % of tint. I do obey the law and have 20 % on mine, but SO many people cruise around with 5% and just don't care. After a friend of mine had it on his RSX and got pulled over daily, I fig. when I got mine installed I'd just do it legally, but to be honest, it's still not dark enough for my liking.
But I've also heard and seen every trick that there is to get by with it. Here are a few...
1. Drive with youre windows down, or at least half way, so the law cant fully determine if it's transparent or not.
2. The sensitive eye deal, defenitley a great loophole in the system to keep youre illegal tint legally
3. And also the sensitive skin deal. The same deal with youre dermatologist as you would from youre eye doc. So if youre a bit on the fair pasty skin side, more of a reason the law should let you be. |
