Default mustang cobra

hey there,I am throwing a question someone,I am looking at a 1991 mustang GT.On the back hatch of the mustang is a sticker that says "cobra",I was wondering if ford actually made a cobra car in that year.

Also wondering if any one has any idea what it worth is.It is a Newfoundland car and has never been winter driven since new, always heated garage stored, and for the past 8 yrs has never been driven in the rain. This car only has 60,000 kms on it and is absolutly mint, one little scratch about a inch long on the bonett.

Any comment or resopnces to my questions would be appreciated .
Thanks Scott

To my knowledge Ford did not produce a "Cobra" in 1991. I asked this same question at the local BCMC meeting last night and this was also the opinion of the members present.

Forget the sticker, considering the shape and condition of the car, who cares if it is a Cobra or not. It's a GT with a 5.0 powerplant under the hood, thats been pampered and babied since new. That is a very rare find these days, especially in Newfoundland Canada.

Paul, is it a 5 speed or automatic, what options does it have and what is the asking price ?

With regard to how much the car is worth, now that's a little more difficult to answer. I am not uptodate on current market prices for 87-93 Mustangs. A good place to check would be some of the online Autotrader's for a price comparision. The Mustang GT you are looking at would be at the top end of that scale considering its condition and low mileage. I would also check its blue book value.

Give Don Ryan a call at Avalon Ford. He's a great guy and should be able to give you the blue book value and a good idea as to what the car is worth.

Hope this helps and good luck with your purchase. The 1991 Mustang GT is one hell of a car and this one sure sounds like a keeper.

Keep us posted as to your decision.

The COBRA sticker is just that, a sticker. It was used on Canadian cars only, and was used to differentiate between the American cars. AS far as the value, a '91 GT as clean as this one sounds is rare (especially in sunny Nfld. LOL). It all depends on how much you are willing to pay for it.

Paul that is a great price considering the stang is in excellent shape and comes fully loaded with 5.0, 5 speed.

Only one question .... What are you waiting for ? .... Go buy the car !

You could be waiting a long time before another one for that price and condition comes along, especially in Newfoundland.

Why wait any longer. Looks like you have a good buy laid out in front of you, so hurry up, buy that damn Mustang and start having some real fun !

Good luck with your decision and hopefully we will all be congratulating you on becoming the proud owner of a really fine 5.0 V8 Mustang.

Keep us posted as to what you decide.
