Oh yeah, I saw this on CNN Headline News the other day.
It must be tough to have to give up that car, even if you were planning to sell it, but I know I personally wouldn't be able to keep a car like that from its original owner. She's definitely in a tough spot.
Did they agree on any terms of the exchange? It seemed she didn't want to give it up for free if she had the choice since she had it for so many years. At the same time, I didn't think you would be able to get money for returning a stolen car.

when I first read the article, I thought it was a mix up because I heard about a guy having his corvette stolen for 30+ years and got it back a while ago but nope it's a stang. 38 years man, that is LUCKY! That sucks having to give away that pony but it's the right thing, so good for Judy.

I'm glad you posted this, she PM'd me last night, she seems quite upset. Asking for help on what to do. I did not know much about it or what help I could offer her. Does not seem too fair that after all these years and money, sweat and tears put into the stang that it should just be given back? I understand it belongs to the other guy, but there has to be a happy medium here???

yeah, that does suck that shes spent time and money on the car b/c she had no idea it was stollen... but, the guy got his car jacked.. maybe they can meet somewhere in the middle.. possibly have the guy give back $$ for how much she spent on it??
