So what do you think they should do? Since they're gonna have the retro look, the commercial should go retro. I saw Car And Driver when they were talking about the release of the Ford Mustang at the World's Fair, April 17, 1964. They had the Mustang horse running along a highway with white text at the bottom saying, "Mustang Is Comming." So why not set the same thing up except have the 2005 pass and 1964 on the other side of the road.
Some people may be jaded by the "retro" look. Not me. I can't wait to buy a mustang that resembles the originals.
As far as the commercial, I would say a 2005 with a young guy (ME!!) driving passing a 64 1/2 driven by and older guy. When they are door to door they both look at eachother. The older guy waives on the new mustang with a look of approval. Then the commercial could show various shots of the 2005 taking corners etc.

cool. but it's already been done by cadillac to promote the CTS. he goes by the vintage caddy with led zep blasting away.
Pulled up to the light the other day and a 3 year old on his big wheel looked over at me and then at the light. I knew that it was on. The big wheel was hooked up, rims, sickers, ground FX, the works. Just before the light turned green the little ******* pointed to the NOS sicker on his machine and left a plasic patch that lasted about 100ft. I didn't stand a chance, I was smoked. He rasied his fist in victory and when home for milk and cookies, I just went to the track.
I think Porsche did one a lot like that with the Boxter before Cadillac.
I know they did it already but I really liked the teasers they had when they introduced the 94 with the It was and It is commercials. When they were just showing parts of the car in comparison from old to new but they didn't show the whole car. Just to make you wait to see the finished product.

What about kind of an evolution commercial...showing at least one 'stang from every generation, including the II, and throw in some snappy line relating to "what goes around comes around" or something like that...or something about "going full circle" or whatever.

That's got my vote!

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)
I think we should discuss compensation before we give away an advertising campaign!!

That too, and if we had more rednecks voting we'd get it!

Okay, I think I've refined my idea a little more...run with the "What goes around comes around" idea...
Picture this: Camera showing a turn on a racetrack somewhere, then a '64 1/2 convertible speeds by. Announcer: "What goes around..."
Then, the next generations come speeding by, one by one...a '71-'73, a II (King Cobra maybe), a Fox, an early SN95 ('94-'98), a late SN95 ('99-'03/'04, Mach 1 perhaps to cue the heritage?), then the 2005 comes through the turn, and the announcer finishes: "...comes around."
Then the "The new 2005 Ford Mustang. Still rockin'."
