I like UFC, The Iceman is cool, I met him in Fresno. I also met Karo the Heat Paraysian at a national judo tourney when I was still in judo. I'm also glad that GSP won, not a big fan of Serra.

Geoge is training here in New Mexico at Jacksons,he is a true martial artist always improveing.Rashad Evens and Kieth Jardine are training here as well. Chuck lidell is one of the best strikers out there and he will be back. Randy Coutour awsome guy now he is one of my favorites for sure.Diego Sanches is a jerk and I made him tap in 2 minutes. Karo is my bud his throws are superior, and he started fighting grown men when he was 13 years old .We got to work on striking and get his indurance up.

I am a fan of it. I have 3 friends that train in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). I plan to join them in classes as soon as my work schedule changes so that I can make it to the training.

I like all the MMA formats. But then again, I find it funny how it is so popular now days. Back in the day my friends and colleagues trained MMA all the time. We didn't call it MMA though, we just called it "training" and "sparring". It is great that it is a recognized sport now though.

I sensed this about you Shartley.Back in the early days we did not call it MMA,there was not a lot of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the time being offered here in the States.Yea we wrestled and did Karate, judo and other arts.Bruce lee really invented it all . Bruce said use whatever works and then we all evolved as Martial ARTISTS. It would not be what it is today if not for people like Bruce Lee , he has contributed more to the arts than probably any other . There is a lot to be said for the founders of the UFC,Like RYOCE GRACIE,(Shamrock) Frank and KEN.I remember being at the Staples Center and seeing Ryoce get beat by Matt Hughes. It was a comming of a new era for the UFC. Then Randy Coutour came back at 42 years of age and beat the gian Sylvia. Then he beat Mirco Crocop and stunded everyone.Randy is truly one of my favorites.

I don't know what would have given you that impression though.
Yes, the mixing of styles and forms is very important to be a true Martial Artist in a world where so many people mix IMHO. Learning one style and form is fine if what you are trying to do is reach perfection as an art form and fitness standpoint (or are always combating one other style), but IMHO when you are studying to defend yourself or for general combat use, you should really expand your bag of tricks. Plus each of us have strengths and weaknesses, and by mixing up your styles you can create a system that works for YOU and can often throw off an opponent who may be expecting a certain attack or defense. Blah blah blah, I am saying nothing we have not heard before.
But yes, Bruce said much of this himself and really started the whole movement of mixing your styles and forms. To be honest, he was not the only one to think that, but he was the first to really put it in practice and start the "movement" and general acceptance of that type of thinking, and training. Way to go Bruce!
