Sport compact not so compact

I love hearing everyone talk about the 1400hp or 1000hp theyve seen out of a sport compact, and then when they show you the car on the magazine its a supra or a skyline... hondas are sport compact...focuses are sport compact but skylines and supras are just as big as my stang.. How did they get sport compact out of that? My old school mustang (66) only weighs 2500pds curb weight anyway...Does anyone else here find supras and skylines to not be sport "compacts"....dont know just had to prove the imports wrong

yes, the most definantly are not compact, haha. but the magazine is about sport compact cars, which are mostly japanese....they find out most hondas and sport compact cars are not fast....so they find a import that is! or something someone will actually read about...

Actually, the mustang is known as a sport compact.

Actually, all mustangs have always been compacts.

Campacts are defined by interior volume.

The Hondas, et al. are all sub-compacts.

But it doesn't roll off the tongue -"sport sub-compact."
