Well I have a hard time putting my answer up in the poll. I think that both of them as individual artist's were really good. Paul McCartney had some fantastic song as well as Lennon. I think that Lennon's songs kind of made you think. Like the song Imagine. Fantastic song one of my favorites. McCartney songs were light hearted but I think he had more hits as an single artist. It just hit me that we only have two of the Beatles left. Sad!!

Tough decision. They both have written songs as the Beatles and as solo artists that will be played on radios and covered for generations to come. If I had to pick one, I would have to say McCartney. No wait, Lennon. No No, McCartney. WELLLLLLLL, Lennon. I can't decide. The music is so timeless that my 3 teenage boys know most of their music and can even figure out which one of them is the lead singer in each particular song.

Man that's tough. Is it even fair to compare? John's music was interesting, if not thought provoking and soulful. Paul's was catchy and fun. Paul was the better musician. John was a political activist trying to change the world. I'd have to flip a coin.

There are only a few Beatles songs I actually like... I am not a fan of them...

Both excellent and historic writers -

I voted for Lennon... and +1 on Imagine... quite an incredible song.

Only a few songs Judi? Do yourself a favour and get a hold of Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Peppers (if you haven't already). Three of the greatest albums ever written. Norwegian Wood, Michelle, In my life, Eleanor Rigby, Good Day Sunshine, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. I could go on for an hour!

Wow, this is a tough choice! I think you needed to put "They are both equally talented" as a poll choice because they were. John was the more political and opinionated of the two, which did get The Beatles into a bit of trouble at times, while Paul was the more light hearted and romantic one. The common bond was that they were not afraid to experiment with different sounds and styles throughout their careers which made their music unique and and timeless throughout the decades.

As a bonafide Beatles Freak, I feel there is not enough room toe expound on this issue. This type of discussion would last for hours.

Im 18 but I know the Beetles pretty good. Im gonna go with Mcartney because more of the beetles better songs IMO came from him. But The actual whole band didnt write to many songs I dont think. Most of the songs where writin by both Lennon and Mcartney
