Default 3000gt that needs a new master cylinder - $1400?

I found this 1991 3000gt that needs a new master cylinder for the clutch, and i think one other minor thing. Has 132K miles. Good brakes, tires, doesnt burn oil, ect. My friends dad thinks there MUST be something wrong with it so hes trying not to let me even go look at it cuz its like an hour away. I can fix the master cylinder, so i want to go see it. What do you guys think, 91 3000gt with a bad master cylinder for $1400?

PS: I had to sell my 84 Mustang so i could move and the one i was going to buy when i got up here sold the day before. And my friends dad (pretty much my dad) wont let me get another one till i have a front wheel drive car so i can get up the gravel driveway in the winter.
