If you're looking for relatively inexpensive subs and want them to sound clean with little distortion when you turn it up then Infinity is a good choice unless your looking to build a seriously powerful system or are doing competition. Frequecncy response is indeed something to watch for-the lower the # the better as we're talking about subs here.

Foam is bad for surrounds. Polypropolene is a plastic material so it's a good choice for a cone.

Poly-foam isn't so bad as straight up foam. It's what you'll get on the stage 1 or 2 rockfords. The main difference between the different stages is going to be power handling and materials plus when you go to a stage 2 you get a dual voice coils which gives you more wiring options.

here is a Review from sum guy who got one of those Profile AP1200 20channel amps
"My friends always give me a funny look when I tell them what kind of amp I run. They don't laugh when they hear my system! I've got this amp running 2 Rockford punch stage one 10's in my '01 2 door Blazer. I always have my stereo turned way up and I've never had the amp over heat. And the fact that it's mounted between the backseat and the sub box is even more impressive. Not much cool air gets in there. This amp has all the features you could ask for at a price that's a steal. I love the remote gain control, true it has a very bright blue L.E.D. in it. But if you've got it mounted in the right spot, (mine's mounted in the ashtray) it puts out a sweet glow that lights up your console and cup holders without blinding you. It also compliments my blue indiglo gauges perfectly! I would recommend this or any Profile amp to anybody. "
Doesn't those are the same subs i have lined up in my cart atm just waiting to either be clicked away or clicked to be bought.....iono :\

Listen, forget about profiles man. Those RMS ratings are bogus. We used to have those amps hooked up along side Rockfords and the Rockfords that had the REAL RMS ratings that were lower than the profiles exaggerated RMS ratings were actually much louder and clearer!

I'm a Kicker man myself. Take a quick look and compare prices and specs. I beat the dog snot (death metal, black metal, etc.) out of 2 Kicker Comp VR 10's for about 3 years with a Kicker amp. With awesome sound quality. Those are also dual voice coil with reinforced rubber surrounds double stitched to the cone.

Fosgate makes a damn good amp I will give them that. Match a fosgate amp with a good sub

Even Rockford Stage 1 subs will pump for the $ AS LONG as you get a clean amp to match them. Get a Rockford amp like the p400-2

ok when looking at the kickers...i know they are a good brand....what about the Kicker Comp 07C124 or the same one but 10"....tell em what u think..
as for the p400-2 $250 for 100-w RMS x 2
thats not too bad.....but a lil pricey when i still need subs on top of that.....

As for the Kicker Comp07C124, the surround is straight foam-not durable or long lasting. It does have good sensitivity at 89db but it only goes down to 27hz. I'd stay away from'em.

Crutchfield.com - Compare
theres the comparison sheet..
looks to me like the Profile takes the RF in alot of things as well asprice..
RF beats the profile in DB but only by 6 which is a good amount..but still...:\

27hz is below the realm of human hearing... you'll hear the cone move but no the sound it is playing how low you wanna go?
