Unhappy I got a flat tire this morning, That's just the begining

Ok so I walk out to my car on my way to work and discover that my right rear tire is flat. Well I have 20 minutes to get to work. Wonderful!!! I call my work and tell them I gotta flat and I'll be a lil late, I'll be there as soon as I can. I find the hole, it was a nail. So I have to make a trip down to Kragen and get a tire repair kit (borrowed my dad's truck). Well I got the tire repair kit and began the process of fixing my tire.

Well I couldn't get the damn reemer in the hole to reem the hole out. I had to push it in as hard as I could with my foot to get it in the damn tire. Well I reemed the hole out to a good size hole. Then I get the patch. I try to insert the patch into the hole. The damn thing won't go in. AHHHHH!!! I again have to push with all my might to get the damn patch to get in the hole. I've never had so much trouble with a tire repair kit in my entire life, and I've had a lot of flat tires. I finally get it patched up. Well my mom hit the damn tire pump. So I gotta wake up my mom and raise hell with her to figure out where the hell she put it. I finally find the tire pump, pump up my tire, and get my merry rear end to work.

I decide to stop by and pick up some donuts for everyone since I was late. If your late or gone at my work, you make everyone work that much harder. Especially because I have a lot of customers that talk to me and me only. Well I get the donuts, but I guess I parked near some mud when I parked my car at the donut shop. I got mud all on the floor mats in my car and I could barely drive cause my feet were so slick. I finally get to work, 45 minutes late. Not too bad. I swear the fun never ends .

I had to vent, and work's still not over.

Edit: And to top it off, I got four hours sleep!!!

Sorry to hear it Matt ... a flat, a mom and mud all in the same day, that had to suck.

On a lighter note I threw my back out yesterday and poor Dale had to taxi me around town this morning and now I am on vicodin (sp?) and some muscle relaxers so I'm quite happy and feel a bit like the catapillar in Alice in Wonderland

That blows Matt. I had a somewhat similar experience this afternoon. I made the trek down to NC to see my parents yesterday and help straighten things out at the empty shell of a house. Apparently I drove around for quite a while with a huge freaking screw in my drivers side front tire. I didn't even notice it, a buddy of mine noticed at my parents place while I was taking an inventory of all their electronics that got destroyed. He pointed it out to me and I decided to go get that fixed as soon as I finished what I was working on. Well I got to the first tire place and was told it'd be 2 hours before they could get to it. The second place doesn't even plug tires anymore so it was gonna cost me a butt ton of money to have it fixed there. I finally remembered that the dealership where I bought both my Rangers was right down the road. I drove over there and the kid said he could do it right away and it would only cost me 10 bucks. SCORE!!!!!!!!!!

WRONG!!!! In the process of locating said screw in my tire, he instead found a busted belt in the tire where the potholes up here are murder on cars. I asked how much they could put a new tire on for, he said about $200, if they had the tire. Of course they didn't have that tire in stock and no one could get to the warehouse before they closed since it was 35 miles away and they closed in 20 minutes. The guy called 2 other places before he called a buddy of his at his little hole in the wall shop. Lo and behold, the guys got a tire for me. As it turns out, this is one of those few and far between instances where it pays to let someone know you've gotta get back to Norfolk for duty the next day because the guy at the dealership where I was just happened to have made the deployment with me, just on a different ship in the battle group. Also the guy that sold me the tire finally was retired Navy, so he knocked 50 bucks off the tire and 20% of the mounting and balancing. It all turned out ok in the end, I'm down $175 bucks but I've got 1 brand spankin new tire on the car. I think I'm gonna go redneck and replace them all one at a time now. lol

You know your tires have a warranty right? They have a warranty from goodyear.

The warranty only applies as long as you have them rotated at a Good Year dealer to the tune of $50 a trip. I've rotated them front to rear myself twice, so I saved $100 on that and this time luck bit me in the arse and the new tire cost me $170 something to replace.

I'm in the same boat... I'm gonna need to get some new tires soon. Can't figure out which ones I want yet though. I know I wanna get some 275/40/ZR17's all the way around though.
