In fact, it was labeled that in many magazines. It didn't have as much hp as today's V6, but it sure got the looks!
It was 157 HP.

LMAO, I should have gotten pink stripes so he'd never want to drive it...
I get to go pick up my 66 stang tomorrow, and I'm planning on restoring it, and the paint would be metallic orange. But OMG the pink racing stripes just did me in. It would be perfect. Thanks for the idea. Mind if i steal it???

Congratulations on your new ride!!! Make sure you post updates of your restoration and pics!! Of course you can steal it, only if we get pics of the beautiful ride with pink stripes!! Are you sure you want to paint it metallic orange with pink stripes?? LOL That is quite a color combo...

Hi again. Naah, you don't want a car guy. Ever heard the term ' golf widow' ? That works for cars, also. I've been married for 17 years, and part of why that's the case is because hubby isn't a car guy. I knew more about cars when I was nine than he does today. Guys like flashy cars because they believe that women like guys with flashy cars, and that this will facilitate their gaining access to women. Not husband material.

I actually think pink and orange look good together if they are in the same arena. But i was also thinking a lighter or darker orange. So it's more subtle. I've now gotten sick and i'm sure part of it is being outside til dark strippin' her down. The rust is worse than I orginally thought. All the floor pans need to be replaced. But I was reading in a book and it says that most Stangs that came from San Jose like mine did, didn't get the undercarriage sprayed with sealer or whatever it is they used. Oh, well. We'll get her fixed just will take time. And my 10 y/o son is having a blast helping out. But thanks JudisStang

When our 94 camry died, my husband let me go look for a car, he expected me to come home with another taurus (like the one I was driving) but I ran into this beautiful 99 anniversary edition v6 and fell in love right away. One day I will have a 2005 model but for now, I got the mustang I can afford He got pretty upset because eventhough he had told me it was going to be my car, he never thought I would come home with a car he absolutelly loves. I let him drive it for one day and after that it was all mine mine mine!!!!

The poor car's been pretty beat up in the past 8months I have had it, nothing I caused, some one backed into it in a parking lot, a tornado sandblasted it, debris from some one else wrecking on the highway added some scratches and some rough rural roads have all added to the 'vintage' look of my car, but I still love it as much as I did on the first day I saw it. I don't have any mods yet, unless you count the ipod hook up as one, or the new taillights, rear windshield or mirrors replacements after the tornado hit it. I am thinking about replacing the window seals next, there is a small tear in the ones I have now, nothing fancy, just functional!

Enough rambling, all that to say I love my car

Another Stang chick chiming in...all my friends think I'm an insane gearhead and should spend my time & $$$ on purses and clothes. Uh, no thanks. Unless that purse has a Mustang logo, then I'm in.

My first was an '00 V6 that a repair shop ruined (GRRRRR) and tried to blame me for it (dumb lady owner, right? WRONG - I sued them and bought my truck with the $$). Couldn't stay Stangless for long and ended up getting my '66 coupe...then the '07 last spring, and my husband's dream car last fall - the '71 fastback 351C in Grabber Lime.

I'm sure I speak for the rest of us here when I say I bleed Ford Vista Blue...

Default New to the board...

Hi all! I'm new and I'm a girl. I grew up with two brothers and one of them had a classic mustang... so I fell in love with them when I was young. My dad and I rebuilt the engine in my 1966 together when I was in high school. So... I know a lil about he oldies, but I have no idea what is going on in my 2006 GT LOL. Under the hood looks much different!
I drove my 1966 daily in college... it was noticed. My (now) husband couldn't get over my yellow 'stang and how cool it was. Ha! (even though he drives a toyota and a honda ) It does get noticed... and so does the new one. I love it!
