What exactly does impacted mean ? I've heard the term before but did'nt know what it meant
It means the teeth will "impact" or come in beneath other teeth. This means the wisdom teeth, when coming in, will hit the "root" portion of the molars, slowly destroying the molar from within. It also means there's a lot more "digging" for the dentist to do, and a lot more pain & recovery time after the surgery.
All 4 of mine are impacted...just trying to save up enough $$$ to get them yanked.
I had all four impacted removed under local..felt nothing, and I went to DMV that day to renew my license. lol No problems, th epicture looks funny because my jaw was swollen. I mean it, if you are getting a local, yo won't feel a thing. If it's not local, I pray for you!

My wife's two lower ones were bone impacted also and had a nerve twist between the roots. she looked like a chipmunk for three days and a bruised face. They had to take hers out in the hospital. I will be surprised if you are awake much of the three days you say you will be online. Most of the pain killers will have you sleeping most of the time.
Marv, I also had a nerve in the way, for 2 weeks, I could bairly open my mouth to eat puddling and jello....it has been 2 1/2 years, and I still can not eat either
All four of mine are impacted but I don't have any other issues such as twisted nerves and such like you weirdos! (Like I have room to talk.) My lower right tooth has just started to break through the gums and the Doc said that it would be the hardest to get out and the most painful afterwards. They are going to put me to sleep during the surgery (thank God!) and I will have my fair share of happy drugs but it's gonna take more than a bunch of chemicals to keep me down! Monkey Boy lives!!!

I had mine out about 4 years ago, they used local anesthetic, it took me til last week to get feeling back in my lower face. Then again it was military doctors that did. Just kidding, it all went smoothly and I was back to normal in 3 days.

My GF had hers pulled three weeks ago. A couple of them had bone that had grown over them. She's 33 and had she had them done 10-14 years earlier they would have been much easier. The tops normally come out easier and its best to get all four done at the same time. She was hurting big time. You will need to gargle lots with warm salt water otherwise you can easily get dry sockets and then you will need more antibiotics to clear that mess up afterwards. Also, do not drink alcohol with medication. You can mess up your organs or other stuff mixing alcohol and meds.
Get some good adult dvd's, Beavis and Butthead dvd's some Adam Sandler movies and a few others from SNL and then wip out some recordings from the Man Show and have some girlfriends deliver a few cartons of ice cream and you'll be just fine. Oh....the ice cream is for eating.
