If it wasnt painted like a HP car then it may have been a factory option in 88 or it may have been ordered by a cop. I think the PCM will say weather or not it is. I think they had a different PCM for more performance. I also think they had better subframes put on them along with a K-member cross brace. Also check the gears, if they are 2:73 and a AOD then it just might be if all of those differences are present.
It may be hard to tell on the sub-frames and the cross brace thought b/c all converts had sub-frame connectors I just think that they will be beefier. Also get the identification guide the LRS has on their website, it has every vin code and option for all of the cars.
