I have been tossing around the idea of selling my 87 GT. I came up with 2 1/2 page list off everything that i have had done or done to the car. But I dont have to sell it at the moment....I am just wanting to go with something different. The last few weeks I have seen a very sharp looking coupe driving around town. Yesterday i saw it parked in a parking lot with a for sale sign. Stopped to look at it today and took a few pics. They guy is asking $6,000. I am going back to talk to him monday to see if it has any odd noises and to see how it drives. let me know what you think.

Keep the GT that car looks from the pictures like i was painted that doesnt make it bad but you dont know why it was painted could be a number of reasons look for original decals at the very least around the radiator support to determine front end crashes ect.dont just drive it arond town take it out on the hwy i wanted the LX also but after owning my GT for the last 3 days lol thaTS RIGHT 3 DAYS im very happy these are my opinions you do what makes you happy anyhooo good luck in your decision and for what i paid for mine i practically stole it ......
P.S. you dont want to buy someone elses problems go through that caR LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT..........

Im going to pick the car apart, trust me. I have put a lot of work into my GT and I love it, but it needs to be painted from a minor accident. I have looked under the car, I didn't see any oil leaks ( it has been sitting in the same spot for almost a week), the underside of the car looks pretty clean, it has long tube headers that don't hang low, x-pipe. From what I could tell the front end looks straight, i will be able to tell more once i pop the hood and drive it. The body of the car is straight, no dents, only one small ding on the gas door, the paint is great, no orange peel, fish eye, no runs in the paint or clear. It is in pretty good shape. Interior looks like it is in decent shape from what i could see through the window. The one thing that bothered me was I saw an ECU in the back seat, dont know what that is about. Just hope it isnt carbed.

I called the owner last night and talked to him about the car. It started raining when i went to go look at the car and have the owner meet me so i could hear it run and drive it. Going to do all that this evening.
Car has a new 306 (700 miles on it) with E303 cam, FRPP crankshaft (i didn't catch the brand of the pistons or rods). has adjustable roller rocker arms. MSD ignition system, 65mm TB, Trick Flow intake. ( possibly track heat). 3.73 gears, stock 5 speed, Bassani stainless long-tube headers, Bassani stainless x pipe and mufflers. Paint is 4 months old. For the price it is a real good deal. I will know how it drives and make sure there are no odd noises after today.

Okay Im hooked on this car. It is tight. Feels tight, motor is strong.

A few things need to be fixed which i expected. ------One A/C line was busted, the arm rest lid needs to be replaced( broken), Ashtray door is gone. carpet and seats need to be cleaned, (no major stains or tears that i could see just, dusty from sitting in a shop.) Rear view mirror is not on the windshield. Two cigarette burns in headliner ( claims it was like that when he bought it) Pass. door handle is on the verge of breaking.

Positives. ------ New motor, new tranny, FRPP clutch, paint and body flawless. Dash and center console plastic is very clean and not worn out or sun damaged. Other than cleaning seats look good. Windows work well. rides good, handles good, the car hooks up good, sounds good. New headlights. Ported/ polished GT40p heads.


I have a few things that I would change------Clean engine bay, have intake powder coated black wrinkle, and black out all the accessories like I have done on my car. White face gauges and of course the SN95 front brake upgrade.
He told me he would let it go for $5500... he just has to get rid of it, has new car payments and the payments on the loan for the stang. for a coupe in this good of shape and what it has that price is a steal. Now I just have to sell my GT.
