pertaining to 'amustangrocks', I see plenty of cops pull u turns when they see me. The will also follow far behind me and think that I dont see them waiting for me to do something wrong.
To 'Smokeshow', i too have an interesting story about when I went in to talk to the magistrate about my second ticket. I was pulled over by a sheriff. When i got there, I almost had to take my pants off because the metal detector kept going off, but my dad was there and they figured that I probably didnt have a gun or anything. so here is a list of the people before me:

1. A woman in here 40s walks up, she ad a ticket for 35 in a 25mph school zone. Her excuse, she got a call that her mother was at the hospital and that she might live, but she might die. So she was speeding to get to the hospital thinking that she might not make it to say goodbye. The magistrate didn't let her off, she still had to pay the ticket.
At this point i was freaking out, I thought I was screwed.
2. A kid with a bunch of tattoos and a few facial rings walks up. He got busted with possesion of marjiuana while on probation. Needless to say, he was not let off either.
Well it was then my turn. I had a few things going for me. I was dressed in a suit and tie, as was my Dad. I am a clean cut guy. I had a clean driving record, which he pointed out. When the magistrate asked if I was attending school, I said yes, for law at Central Michigan University. He said that I should know not to break the law and that he was going to have me write the 3,000 word essay on the hazards of unsafe driving. Well I wrote it in a day, as I was leaving for school two day after my visit to the court. He actually read it and made comments on it!!! But he let me off and took everything off of my record. I was sweating bullets the whole time!

As my signature says..."So far so good...so far"! I've only had one $35 parking ticket and a couple of warnings about remembering to turn on my headlights after twilight. I just got to remind myself that green means go on my dashboard at night.

In the last 20yrs and 1.2 million miles on the road:

1 speeding ticket on Kadena Airbase in Japan in 1991 for doing 38kph in a 35kph zone (about 2 mph over the speed limit). I feel good about that one. A buddy I worked with got a ticket on his motorcycle from the same base police officer for 'erotic driving'.

2 warnings for speeding (I was busy watching road construction at one and wasn't paying attention and the officer was sitting 50ft beyond the slower speed limit sign on the highway on the other).

3 warnings for a headlight out (winter driving on graveled roads. They always seem to catch me an hour after a rock takes out my headlight).

1 courtesy warning for an expired parking meter.

Well, I am sure the tractor trailer drivers on AFM have seen a few examples of that... but that's got to be hard to do while riding a motorcycle!!

I've actually been pretty lucky.
My first ticket was about 15 years ago. I was passed by a white sedan, but the cop decided to pull me over doing what he says was 75 in a 55. I know that couldn't be right, because over 65 that old Buick station wagon shook like a blender on margarita night.
My second ticket was about 8 or 9 years ago, doing 72 in a 55 in my '89 Dodge Ram. I was running late for an appointment and was running through all these "gotta do's" in my head. With every "gotta do" my foot "gotta" little heavier on the gas pedal. I wasn't paying attention and got pulled over. Oh, well.
Luckily I had enough positive points it didn't make any difference on my insurance. The big joke was I'm probably one of the slowest drivers out there, yet I get nailed for speeding. My family had a field day with that one.
Other than that, my license is clean.

In the last 9 years I haven’t gotten one ticket. But I have been pulled over for:

4 wheelies
145+ in a 70
137 in a 35
Fleeing and eluding x2
10 over
15 over twice

The key is to have no points to start with. If you don’t treat the cop like they are stupid when you get pulled over most of the time they will let you go. All of the above times I got pulled over I told the cop exactly how fast or what I was doing. But I never made an excuse for it. Just stand there and take your punishment.

I do have two wreckless tickets in AZ though with warrants. But they don't transfer to Michigan.

I have over 20 tickets since I was a teen. Just about everything but DUI.

2- over 100mph.
4- over 90mph.
1- Unsafe driving (drifting in an empty parking lot)
3- Unsafe starts (I can't help it!)
Several others that were knocked down to 15-20mph over.
Several seat belt fines (I used to never wear my belt, now I do.)

Thankfully I know a few cops and have a friend who is a prosecutor!

Before 1980 I had a few DUI's and Wreckless driving
tickets and then I slacked of to just speeding tickets. In my GT I got a ticket for improper lane change.

Sparse traffic on local road (two lanes each way). I needed to turn left up ahead, so I was in the left lane. Saw a car up ahead in my lane with its left turn signal on, so I changed to the right lane and changed back once I had passed him. Police car a good distance behind me sped up to catch up to me and then turn on the flashing lights. He agreed that I had been driving below the speed limit and that there was nothing unsafe about the way I was driving and that my driving had not had any negative affect on any other traffic. But he wrote me a ticket anyway for changing lanes without using a signal. He stressed that if I mailed in the $70 payment for the ticket, it would be erased from my record in 90 days. It was all about generating revenue for his municipality. This happened four or five years ago and is the only ticket I've gotten in over 30 years.

I was turning right from the right hand lane on a six-lane divided road, when a man in a Mustang GT convertible hit the right front corner of my Fiero. He thought he would pass several cars by driving on the shoulder and then cutting in front of all of us. If I had started turning a second or two sooner he would have T-boned me in my Fiero at over 50 miles per hour. Both of our cars would have been totalled and we both would probably have been seriously injured. He was given a ticket and his insuranced paid for all repairs to my Fiero. This happened about three years ago and is the only accident in which I've been involved when I was in a car. I have had people hit various cars I have owned a total of four times over the years, while the cars were parked various places (library, movie theatre, hardware store, residential neighborhood). And people wonder why I don't drive my Mustangs...

Wow, most of you dudes drive pretty friendly. I'm 18 and so far i have:

1- reckless endangerment
1- reckless driving
1- no seat belt
2- defective equipment (my mufflers are supposed to be that loud)
1- 87 mph in a 55 zone
1- thing about a three-hundred foot burnout (i was drying the tires!!!)

at least two-dozen other warnings, mostly about defective equipment (see above comment), speeding, drifting or roasting tires.

fotunatly, i turned 18 just in time to avoid loosing my license, three tickets before 18 in this state and you loose it til you're 21.

It's all in how you talk to them. Easy as pie.

I spun my car off the road at about 75+ a few weeks back, got it back on the road and noticed there was a cop car sitting right there that saw the entire thing! I pulled over into a parking lot the first chance I got (which was my vet) and was out of the car when the cops pulled in.

Cop said "What happened"
I said "Spun the car off the road"
Cop said "How fast were you going?"
I said "About 5mph too much"

Checked my Lic which has no points......

No ticket

But I am sure they were laughing their a$$es off after I left
