Default question bout 4.0L jeep

a girl i know has a 4.0L jeep. its super hard to start. if you crank and crank and keep hitting the gas it wants to go... but today she tried for 10 minutes to no avail. it looks liek one vacume line was cut up on top near a pcv valve. could that be all there is to it? i9 know this is a stang site, but my stang is a 4.0. so im gonna go out on a limb and say its similar :P even though i know better

I had a 4.0 jeep. Now it's my moms, lol. I know those engines very well. The couple of vacuums that I know are the two on top of the valve cover. One goes from the valve cover to the intake system and one from the back of the cover to the intake manifold. What year is it?
