Does anyone know if a 1988 Saleen Mustang came standard with Recaro seats? Someone in my area is selling one which shows the stock cloth seats from a LX/GT. I asked the seller, who was the second owner and they didn't know. Maybe its a fake.
Do you know of any Saleen forums or websites which list the specs? I searched Saleen's site and they don't seem to have any details on previous models.
To my knowledge an real 88' Saleen came with cloth or leather seats
embroidered "Saleen" on the head rest.If it is a "REAL" 88' Saleen it
should have a Saleen certificate with the car at the time of purchase
or if it doesn't have a certificate with the it could possibly be a
replica.People try to do that to people.Also on the Saleen certificate
it should have a Saleen idenification number so,make sure it's not a
replica.
Yes,Broadsword it doesn't look like a replica to me.I think it's a killer
deal if you ask me.He's only asking eightyninehundred I'm very
surprized with only 74K on it.He can very eazily get over 10K for
under 100K miles.It is a offical Saleen from what I can see.The origanal
person how bought the Saleen(the first owner) when purchasing the
car should have got a Steve Saleen certificate of authenticity.The
idenification number is on a plate just you said Broadsword.#334 of
#549 sounds about correct because they only made 500 some saleen's
that year anyway so,yes I do belive it's "real".I do love the way it looks!
From the looks of it the owner took great care of it because the engine

Get the VIN number and call Saleen, They will confirm if it's real. Looking at the pics, it looks fishy as the graphic are wrong, should have three stripes on bottom like mine. The fender slash graphics were on 93 SSC's as far as I know. And number plate should be in front of not behind shifter.
As I recall they were recaro or flofit seats. I posted a couple pics of Saleens on this site a long time ago when they were new on a carlot. That was in 1987. The last time a seen one.
