Below is a copy of the letter we sent to George, the owner of Coast High Performance / Probe Industries (CHP) reguarding our and your concerns over the 347 Pro Street Fighter Kit they delievered for one of our project cars. We eagerly await their response so we can proceed with the building of the project car for you.
Please check back as we will post their reply as soon as we receive it.

George,
This is Dale Brown from AllFordMustangs.com I spoke to you about a week ago about the "347 Pro Street Fighter" stroker kit we purchased from you. When I first spoke with you I explained this kit was going into a project car for AllFordMustangs.com and the entire purchase, build and installation process would be documented for our readers online. Not only are our readers helping with the specs but they are also following the process from beginning to end to see their results.
When the kit first came in, after over a month from ordering, we posted pictures from every angle of the individual kit parts. There was a resounding signal from our readers that there is a big problem with the crank, and even the heads. Here are a few of the quotes from the online forums:
"I had same probs w/ my crank!!!! Looks like swiss cheese. I had my machine shop balance mine...they said never seen a kit that balanced like that...Let me know how things work out on this...Oh yeah ordered oil pan"7 quart"from them took them 1.5 months to get here"said it would b here in 1 week also said it would clear my girdle doesn't at all" so now i get to take all my mains off to mill some off of the back "rear:side of the girdle"
"The head port didn't look consistent at all, especially where the pockets were ported. Maybe just the photo, but the crank looked terrible. The BAD NEWs is I have a 427W kit in the garage by them. I hope its not the same!"
"Your kit looks exactly like mine did. I had to re-balence to whole kit. I bought the pro street fighter forged kit and the crank was swissed, and every rod journal was oversized. Not one of them was 2.123. They ranged from 2.124-2.126. I was about to freak but found out that all the rods were all too big also. I will be able to make it work."
We have also taken the crank to a couple of high performance machine shops and their comments, while tainted since they are also in the same market, were very concerning as well.
Our concerns lie not only in poor workmanship but also the fact that our custom cam we spoke to you about during the initial interview was not only missing from the kit when it arrived but you had no record of it even being ordered. As you will recall I spoke to you personally, several times, before the order was finalized to ensure the correct cam for our application was chosen.
I have attached a picture of the crank, and two of the heads. We would like to extend this opportunity to make an "official response" from CHP reguarding claims of poor workmanship, delays in order processing, and non-delivered parts such as our custom cam.
We look forward to your response, as do our readers.
Thank You,
Dale Brown, AFM - Staff
