...To the moderators....any chance we can get a sticky for this with the first post always editable with the master list of interested parties ?
Great! The thread has been stuck and I can edit the list if you send me the names and info updates for the first post... As far as I know, there is no way to give you that ability without making you a moderator

Can you list the origin/starting town for each listed
participant? Some people could be driving
the same route to the meeting place and not even
know it, listing the starting point would be both interesting
to see and may initiate groups to form on the way and entice others to join the "convoy".

I'm by I-95 and the Meritt Parkway but could also
go by way of I-84 Danbury to start.

Judi.....is there any way you can change the title of the thread from "An idea for S197 owners etc" to something like "AFM S197 Meet at Whiskey Cafe, Lyndhurst, NJ" while keeping the date there as well ?
Well I'm not waiting around....lol.....I just reserved my hotel room at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lyndhurst.
119.00 for the night....not bad.
Now if this thing grows and 10 or more people plan to stay over, I can talk to the sales office there about reserving a block of rooms and getting a discounted rate I assume.
I'm going to call the Whisky Cafe as well and get more details about their Saturday Classic car show....what time show cars usually get there, etc.
Im interested, im in Queens, N.Y. but Lyndhurst is 40 min away. I would like to go attend the car show too. Anychance they can set up an S197 section for us so we can show as a group? that would be kool.

Spurred on by RedMoses post I just sent the following email to the manager of The Whiskey Cafe...maybe I can find a job as an event organizer....lol
Greetings,
I am a member of a Mustang website and am in the process of organizing a group meet for some of our members from the northeast to some of the mid-atlantic states. Someone suggested your Saturday Classic and when I went to your website it certainly sounds like a great time and a great show.
We are planning for Saturday, June 20.
I know the show is from 5 pm until 10 pm so my first question is when do people that are entering cars usually arrive ? Is there a cutoff time for entering ?
Our group will consist of modified S197 Mustangs which are 2005+ models. So the other question I have is this....if our group rolls in with 10-20 rides would we be able to reserve spots if I gave you an exact car count so we could remain together at the show ? Or is it strictly first come, first served ?
I'm from Connecticut and have never attended your Saturday Classic before, but it certainly sounds like a great event and I am looking forward to attending with the rest of our group on June 20.
Any other information you can give me would be much appreciated !
Although it is a "Classic car show" our cars look, well, Classic. Everytime im at a show even surrounded by some fine classics, i always get positive feed back. I think the Retro design strikes a nerve with the Classic Muscle car guys and they tend to dig it. From the website, it seems like theres a lot of 50's era cars, so we may look a lil out of place, but if theres Muscle era cars we will be more than welcome. Also, if we show as a group we wont look out of place to spectators.
Good on ya for taking the initiative to organize sumn Fuzzy

Fuzzy, i am going to talk to my buddies over at NJ Stangers and see if i can get a bunch of them to tag along since they've been there before. Maybe i can John over here to give us some info since i know he's got an acct here in afm already.
I am already interacting with the NJ Stangers and i created a thread over there and i'm going to coordinate with both forums to see if we can get 50+ cars. 50 is my goal
Hey Everyone, this sounds great! We should see if we can get a variety of Mustangs and not only our BodyStyle......maybe get AFM to publicize the event. Like Hotshot said, our club usually brings a variety of Mustangs to that meet ranging from 15 to 30 or 40 mustangs...........wonder how many cars actually go there on Warm Sunny Night?
Over 200 or 300 but everyone behaves well, they have food, drinks, and beer.
You also see the rarest cars there and stuff you wouldn't ever believe. That's why I love going there, different stuff every saturday
