I thought the funniest part was, if you remove the battery, don't close the truck or you'll have to crawl through the inside and release the safety latch.

The only time I've seen batteries in the trunk is in drag and other racing cars. Man that camaro is going for broke in trying to be a serious machine. I'd laugh if someone needed a jump in one of those and couldn't figure it out. I would never have. Some of us aren't smart enough to look in the trunk for a battery

wow nice spot for a battery... "hey man could you give me a jump, my car wont start". "sure, let me open my trunk... sorry man the cable won't reach, I guess you're out of luck!"
good going chevy, now people can really depend on them crapmaros.

Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, most European sedans (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and some Volkswagens and Audis) have them in the trunk from the factory. It's not that uncommon. GM's even been doing it for the better part of a decade with some Buicks, Cadillacs, and Pontiacs.

It is sought of like the mustangs, if your battery is dead or out, your door clashes with the rubber strip to open ot close the door.
I believe the old VWs use to have it under the rear seat.

Yeah, but emphasis on "I" wouldn't have looked there. Since I've been alive my driveway has had 2 Dodge Ram's, a Dodge Dakota, A chrysler Sebring, two Dodge Stratus', a Plymouth Breeze, Ford Explorer, Ford Mustang, and a GMC Jimmy.
Basically none of those vehicles had it outside of the engine bay so I would have no clue.

That's pretty dumb, but that is typical GM lack of attention to detail. I thought that not having a trunk release button/lever was pretty lame in the Mustang, but at least the key and if you have it, key fob will open it. Dumb move on GM's part.

Caddies like to put the battery under the rear seat. We had a BMW at work once that the doors wouldn't unlock with a dead battery. We had to jack it up and charge the battery from the starter terminal.

A little off topic... I agree with the battery in the trunk, it's great to help with weight distribution but in order to put it there they had to leave the car without a spare tire. I'm gonna laugh the first time I hear of a camaro owner getting a flat and not having AAA.
