bring the poor lil guy to the vets WITH you... you know for sympathy... i know if i could help him, AND had the resources to fix him up, i would do it in good faith and believe that u are going to pay for ur services... although im sure i would never make any money which is why im not gonna be a vet lmao cuz i would just keep saving animals for free cuz i feel bad
That's a good idea... I understand vets get burned all the time - I see it happen to my own vet who won't take checks from anyone but me... He's been in my home - he put my dog Brutus down in my livingroom for us... we're not going to screw him on a vet bill.... Make sure your vet knows - maybe even offer an employment or neighbor reference if you're not a regular customer of theirs yet...
Let us know how you make out!! I am anxious to know what the vet says....
We're patiently waiting on the pictures.............
New update. Me and marvel (the dog) went and saw the vet today. After speaking with him for a while about wanting the surgery he said he wants me to use the anti-inflamitory cream they have and just message his cherry eyes. I have done research and this method is only about 15% effective but if it can at least help him feel a little better for now then I'll give it a try. I am supposed to go back next week and see him again depending on if the creams help. If not then he said he would do the surgery but I would have to leave the dog in his kennel till I finish paying for the surgery. The only reason I am considering this is because he is the only vet in my area that is willing to help me and he said that he'd be more than willing to let me come by and spend time with marvel anytime I want (he is open 8am-7pm mon-friday and 8-5 on weekends so he is open a lot)
that is great news. I hope the cream helps. if not, it is good to hear you have a vet willing to work with you and do what is best for the dog.
maybe if you pay regularly, the vet will let you take the dog home after making payments for a while.

That's fantastic news!! I know it's a long shot - but I am hoping the creme works for you and the baby!! My only concern with the vet keeping the dog would be - besides health reasons - how much a day will he be charging you for kenneling? Because if it's $10-$20 a day, your bill will be impossible to pay off... that's important to find out!
Guties, I commend you for taking such an effort to help out this dog. That's really uncommon to find a vet who's willing to bend for you, and even board him until you've paid up. I wish you both luck.

I hear ya there!! Too bad vets are just like doctors and in the end it all comes down to money. A lot of them care about the animals they are helping (that's why they became a vet), but none of them care enough to do it for free.
Ha I posted this before I read page two. It's great that you found a vet to help, but as Judis said, find out about boarding fees and "extras" that may get tacked on, like shots that prevent Kennel Cough and whatever else that vets come up with to charge people for.
The vet is a friend of a family friend which is why he is helping. He won't be charging me kennel fees... He's been really awesome so far but It puts me in a situation where I can't even be semi late because it would ruin the trust between me and him and him and the family friend. I'm really hoping the creme works but for right now I'm trying to scrounge all my pennys up just incase. I have a buddy that works at a gas station and he went ahead and put a "donation bucket" up to help but he says it's not getting much. And now to add onto all of this my son is starting to get sick Seems like someone up there doesn't wana give me a break.
Wow judi that website has a lot of helpful information. I went ahead and sent a few emails and my buddy says he has gotten some more donations today. He does have a picture of my little buddy on the bucket (he took it). I want to thank all of yall for ya'lls support, especially judi. Things seem to be going OK. My son seems to just be coming down with a cold so it's nothing too serious, thank god.
I'd like to say that I frequently read a lot of mustang forums but this is the only one I feel comfortable posting on. Ya'll are all so helpful and supportive... it makes a guy thankful for buying a mustang! Ya'll are the best!
Great advice, can't think of anything I could add except my kudos...my wife & I truly commend your efforts, there is simply not enough animal lovers out there....perhaps once you have the surgery post a copy if the vet bill as proof of job done (and please don't that this request the wrong way, I only suggest this simply because I don't know you), along with a pic of the little guy and maybe you may find some people willing to help out
keep us posted
cheers
is it against site policy to leave an address in this thread for us to send a donation possibly in check form?? i have money and i feel real bad... i know that i cant help EVERYONE, but i hate to see the little guy locked up in a dern kennel due to a fellow mustang buddy being helpful but not having the cash to take care of the guy and also whats the vets total estimated bill?? maybe i could send more than 20?? let me know, as long u promise its gonna go to the lil guy, lol not a Cold air or 3.73s hahaha

The vet will be charging me 375 for the surgery. I thank ya'll for being willing to help me with a donation but I'm going to have to ask yall to wait till its certain that I'm going to have to do the surgery. As of right now the swelling has gone down slightly but not quite enough to get the gland to go back in. Y'all are freakin awesome! but what I really need from ya'll at the moment is ya'lls prayers for Marvel. Once again thank ya'll for being awesome and this is definitely the best mustang site on the interweb!!
that would be awesome if the cream took care of his eye. so cool to hear there is at least a plan to get Marvel all fixed up. Looking forward to seeing pics of him when he is ready for a photo op.
keep the faith!!
