I went back to work last night after being gone for a little over a year. Working for my (uncle sam). I planned on only working a few hours on the street and planned on getting home about 10 or 11pm. On the way to work a truck kicked up a stone and smacked the windshield. scared the carp oout of me. but I didn't see any damage.
I started out just riding with my partner to test the waters. Well we ran a little traffic, Gave a ticket to a Toyota prius for 44 in a 25 zone. Good start. Then we arrested a guy for DUI. That's went all heck broke lose. We got a call about an armed subject locked in a car. threating suscide. The fire Dept would not respond until the scene was safe. I grabbed the other patrol car and responded. About two miles from the house I receive an update that the subject fired one round into the chest and was not breathing. I reached the house and helped secure the scene. I ended up remaining on scene for over 4 hour. My prays go out to the family in their of loss. The oldest sons birthday is today.
I got home about 5 am this morning and gave my kids a big hug. I then spent some quality the with the wife. days like this make it hard to go to back to work, but rest assured that I'll be there. Never take life for granted. you never know when it will change.

It takes a special person do be in law inforcement. I myself was a PD dispatcher and i know that there are good days, and all hell has broken loose days.
Keep up the good work!!! Just remember you serve and save those who truely need it.You can't win them all.

What am I getting myself into? DC is pretty sketchy...
My uncle is in Navy Seals he does crazy stuff he was the first person in Osamas mansion. But he was recently on the Discovery channel because he is a US Marshall and they had this show on Operation Falcon I know how hard it is out there. Thank you so much for your duty.
Uncle deploys out to Iraq for 2nd tour in January

It take a special kind of person to stay in law enforcement. Some days you just want to shake your head and say "What the hell am I doing?" Then you have other days that something happens and you see why you do it. I've had to do CPR on a man that had a heart attack for 10 mins. til EMS arrived (BAD day) and I've had a high speed chase with 2 motorcycles for over 15 miles.(GOOD day). Both of them were arrested by the way. The first time you have a small kid ask you if they can sit in the patrol car or how cool is it to be a cop? you will love it. the first time you have a suspect spit in your face and you still have to treat him with some sort of respect. your hate it. but you do it anyway. DC is a tuff area. it will keep you busy.
