Default Just read this:No more Dodge?

Looks like Fiat (Chrysler ) is dumping Dodge.Says they are going to continue building "American" muscle though....yeah right!!!

Just had to look and found this.
Cars & Trucks: What's the future of the Dodge brand?
This morning I saw an ad for the Jeep and saw that the finanacing was to be thru GMAC. Thought that was really strange.

Damn. Well, I'm glad we got to see the three classic pony cars face off at least one last time. Looks like this year could be a fairly defining moment in muscle car history.

I don't think the Mustang will have any problems though, I hope not anyways. Been going nonstop for 44 years so far, I think it'll make it.

Me too, but it was nice to have other muscle cars to compete against and trash talk and stuff. Was good fun, mostly friendly competition. Not gonna be the same if everyone else goes for a crap. I don't want to have to share the road with only imports from now on, and racing rice burners at the drags isn't the same as two good old muscle cars going head to head.

I am actually intrigues with the Fiat purchase of Chrysler. There is talk of them bringing the Fiat 500 stateside. If they do that I might have to consider putting one in my garage. The guys on Top Gear have been raving about that car for the past God knows how long. And I tend to trust their judgment. So it'll be interesting...

Space-Wolf, the Mustang has been around for 45 years. They celebrated the 45th anniversery around the world. My aunt went to a celebration for it in England, and I was supposed to go to Birmingham, Alabama for the 45th anniversery event. I think at this point that the Mustang either is or is one of of the longest running production cars. That and the Beetle (blah).

I think the 911 Porsche might be the longest running production car and they didn't really change the body much at all since 1963.

The Impala has been around since 1958. The vette since 1953. I heard that some Jeeps are going as well do to poor sales. The fiat 500 is named that because of it's 500cc motorcycle engine. Squeeze a busa engine in it and we're talking although I'm not sure how I'm squeezing in it. I rode in them in the early 70's. They are mundane point A to point B cars. Alfa Romero is also coming stateside. Chrysler needs the Japanese to buy it so that all former axis powers can have a hand at fixing the unfixable.

I was kinda hoping to eventually pick up a Challenger R/T. I was really hoping for them to reissue all the high impact colors because I prefer the lime green or plum crazy purple. I hope they stick around long enough for me to do so. If they bail, I guess I'll have to wait for a used orange or white R/T.

Dodge won't be going anywhere. The Ram 1500 makes up for too large of portion of Chrysler's sales.

The Corvette is the longest car in continuous production. (1953) The Beetle was around in pre WWII days, but production stopped a few times since then.
