Default Home from deployment, but my stang is dead!

So I got home from the desert about 4 days ago. The first thing I wanted to do was go drive my stang around for a little bit. I changed my spark plug wires to custom yellow ones. It took about 5 minutes to do. I go to start my car and I hear, tick, tick, tick, tick. I am like, DAMN! So I mess around with the wires for about 2 hours then call it a night. I called my brother-n-law the next morning to come help me out. He know alot more about cars than me. We put the old wires on and it still won't start. He says, it is the starter. So we went and bought a new starter and put it in. It only took like 45 minutes to do. So anxiously I try to start the car and nothing happens. So we jump my car and it starts. It sounds absolutely horrible. It is backfiring like crazy. So we knew it was the firing order. We fixed the wires. The spark plug wires were mixed up. That was my fault. Then I tried to start is and it started with no problem and sounded great. I had tuned my car with my new SCT tuner before ever messing with the spark plug wires. So when it finally started it sounded bad azz. My brother and I backed the car out into the street and I nailed the gas. I left about a 100ft black mark on my street, There was white smoke everywhere. With the tuner my car is alot more powerful. I smoke the tires all the way into 3rd gear now. I just wanted to share my experience with my fellow stangers. Have a nice day.

AWESOME MILLER!! dude glad to know your home safe!!

when ur car does the click click click you should START with a jump start lol usually means battery is low, prolly from sitting.... anyways firing order (if its 96-98) cuz u still have plug wires and u have a tuner so im guessing i do believe is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 same as the ol' 5.0 high output i have long since memorized that firing order for those exact issues...

Glad to have you home safe!!! thanks for being there for us, and by all means enjoy that car to the fullest... if u get stopped for laying black marks all down the street just be like "i just got back from iraq this week and i really really missed my stang!" he will prolly let you go with a warnin

Welcome home man. Be careful driving the first few weeks back. I know lots of guys that jumped in their sports cars right after getting home and some had really bad accidents. Ease back into it. Celebratory burnouts are ok the first night home though!
