i know the taurus show threads have pretty much been beaten do death on here, but i was just reading some motor trend reivews of the car, and i must say, i am absolutely amazed by this car.
the car makes 365 hp and 350 tq. but the torque is capped at 350. it makes the torque from 1500 all the way to 5000 rpm. it says it is limited to protect the drivetrain. this car runs 13.7 without the track pack, and mid-lower 13's with the track pack. can you imagine what this car could do if you beefed up the drivetrain and lifted the torque limiter?? this car could legitimately run 12's with very little work at all. and with the 37K price tag, you are getting every bit the performance of a bmw 550i, with just about HALF the price. plus this car is absolutely loaded with goodies like sync, push button start, massaging seats, rear cameras, collision warning with brake support, and more.
i mean, is there anything NOT to like about this car? i sooo wish i had 37K to drop on this car (of course, if i had 37K id probably drop it on a GT premium...)

The problem is dealers are milking low to mid 40s outa a 37K car. This puts it into Shelby GT 500 country. While they are for different purposes, Ecoboost doesn't beat 540hp.

when you put it that way, there's no doubt that I'd be buying that car.
I'd save up and buy a Gt but in New England as well as other parts of the country you kinda need another vehicle for the bad weather days as well as sunny days you feel like a change... enter the SHO, a good all around sedan with awd that still kicks a@@ in the fun department. I would totally buy one.

I saw one in person and that thing seemed HUGE to me. It outta be a hell of a ride with those power numbers
from what ive heard, it is a rather large car, but the SHO, especially with the track pack handles like a german tuned suspension car. at least thats what ive heard. also, you cant argue with 13 seconds.

Lift the torque limiter, throw on a bigger tranny cooler and hang on. I wonder if the transfer case is the weak link that they are protecting with that limiter or the front differential. Surely they were smart enough to put an 8.8 based rear diff in that thing. Throw drag radials at all 4 corners and see what the beast will do.
