Saw it twice. First time, I was so hyped up that it was gonna be "the scarest movie ever" and it didn't scare me, at all.
The second time. I got in for free with some friends and with all the hype in my head gone. I gotta admit. It genuinly frightened me. Not even just shock horror. But all that paranormal/demon mumbojumbo always had the number to my fear factor on speed dial. Along with Aliens.
I remember having a minor break down in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Aliens are just a little to freaky for me. Which is why im also excited about The Forth Kind.
2 things. ive never seen a movie that has scared me, and ive seen every horrow film in the book. that is, until this one. they did an excellent job of scaring the crap out of you.
and how can 2012 be based on facts.....2012 isnt even here yet.
p.s. southwest cali isnt part of north america anymore. its technically not on the north american plate.

I want to check it out also. heard it was good but alot of critics blasted it.
2012....just like when everything from space to the pyramids said the last calendar date (end of the world) found was 1999....and it's almost 11 years later, lol.

Yeah it looks scary and is supposed to be based on true facts. Also 2012 is supposed to be based on real facts too about the world ending....that is kinda scary.
Ah, yes. 2012. The year the Mayan calendar ends and supposedly the world. Personally, I think the guy writing the calendar just got tired and quit. Hallmark only draws up calendars for the next year, let alone 2000 years. This will be the next Y2k and not a single light bulb will flicker and my credit card bill will still be due...

about the 2012 and that calender thing it all is just one big scam to scare the crap out of people i mean they take every big event in history and they say that this guy predictied it and peoploe get scard and say whats next. i mean if the world really ends on dec 21 2012 then i guess it dose. just like when they thought the world was gunna end in 2000.

The thing about watching a horror/ suspense/ scary movie is that it only works if you give in and place yourself in the mindset of the people portrayed in it. Slasher movies don't count because they're fun just for the "crazy death" or gratuitous gore factors (both of which are fun when you know they're fake). Movies that go for the cheap and easy thrill scare don't count either. Again, they're fun but not scary unless you're a 10 year old. I haven't seen Paranormal Activity yet but I'm sure I'll try to let go and be in the spirit of the movie (no pun intended) and see where the journey takes me.

A couple of ladies at work regularly go to the movie theatre together to see slasher and horror type films. They said Paranormal Activity scared them far more than any other horror film.

Yeah Im sure there is a logical explanation for the Mayan and Egyptian calenders ending on that date. But its scary to think about, but more than likely I say its not gonna happen cuz nobody knows when the world is going to end, but ya gotta admit when that day comes it will be in the back of your mind.
