This article from the New York Times mentions the American muscle car battle and the rise in popularity of ( get ready ) Korean tuners...

“Balancing budget and the ‘cool factor’ are still big drivers in this marketplace,” Peter MacGillivray, a SEMA vice president, added. “I think that’s why Korean brands are gaining some ground and influence. They seem to be priced right and positioned as a cool brand to buy.”

... I do believe more people are looking to extend the life of their present cars and not purchase new ones at this point... we're in that boat here...

Seriously, wouldn't it be cool to go to that show???
