I have a question, can a Mustang, with enough mods, beat a Ferrari, say a Ferrari Enzo? And could you do it for cheaper than a Ferrari? I would think you could, but I'm not an expert on how much speed you can get out of a Mustang. Thanks all

With enough mods you can get almost any vehicle to beat almost any other vehicle.

I think that a Mustang can very well beat a Ferrari, yes. And it will be built for less, yes.

But keep in mind you have to plan for a specific style of race. And are you removing any speed limiters? In other words, are you going for top speed, or a race given a specific straight line distance, or specified Grand Prix style course?

It would be a very good race is properly set up… both the course and the cars.

But in my opinion, I would not waste my time with it. They are two totally different types of cars, for different purposes. I would like to see a Ferrari beat me at this race though…..

You must have 4 passengers, and you must also do a weeks worth of grocery shopping. Every passenger must be in their own seat and not on another person. And the groceries can not be held by anyone nor outside the vehicle.

Seriously, like I said, a Mustang is a beast of a different variety. There are differences between a muscle car, a sports car, and an exotic car.

Well, considering the Enzo runs an 11.3 in the 1320, and most of the 'Stangs in NMRA Pro 5.0 class are running in the 6's, I'd say, yes, it is possible.

Out of the box a Saleen SR will out brake and has better lat. accel. than the Enzo. It is about 1/2 second slower in the 1/4 however. But the SR is a little over $400k less than the Enzo. I would have to bet you could pick up that 1/2 second with some engine mods and still have enough cash left over for about 27,000 cases of beer

yea when you buy the ferrari, youre not buying it to have awesome horsepower (though they do have good HP) youre buying it because its a ferrari. those 400k price tags arent that high because of all the performance you get in comparison with a 27 grand gt. they are that high because the name is synonymous with rich famous people getting the girls and the beauty.

does that make sense?

This is partially true, partially false.

What makes a good car is far more than raw HP. While it is true that the name can boost the price of an object, that is not the entire story for Ferraris…. Not by a long shot. And most definitely not 400K worth.
