I was headed to my parents house last night so I could spend Thanksgiving with them and to drop my car off so i can drop the
tranny and clutch this weekend. Well my clutch has already been acting up for the last week so I figured the 100 mile trip back home would be about all it could handle. Boy was I right.

I am going through Atlanta trying to pass through the moving but heavily congested interstate. I went to pass a guy so I dropped it down to 4th. Well as I pressed the clutch pedal in I heard a "pop". So I turned the stereo off and just listened to her to make sure evrything sounded fine. All was great so I kept on trudging along. About 20 miles later as I was getting off my exit I once again down shifted to 4th, and again i heard a "pop" as I pressed in the clutch pedal. This "pop" sounded like something was getting hung up and then slamming hard into something else.
Well I get to the light and I am going right so I go to put it in 1st gear and nothing, the gate wouldnt let me in 1st or 2nd gear. So I double clutched it and then slammed it into 1st and it caught, so i milked along another 15-20 miles into town. Came to another light and the same happened wiht the gate, then i Noticed that I had quite a lot of play in my clutch pedal, about half the pedal was play, not good!!!
So I went through some more lighs, I caught every red light as well funny how that works huh? Well I finally got going and went to put it into 3rd gear and even with double clutching it wouldnt go so i dropped it into 2nd and pulled over in a gas station. I fugured I could adjust the firewall adjuster a little just so I could make it another 30 miles to the house. Pop the hood and discovered it was adjusted all the way.
. So I called my dad to come get me and my car. Well I decided I woud pull it closer to the light so my dad could see it from far away, I go to push in on the clutch and I heard that same"pop" and the clutch went to the floor with no resistence.
. Thats when i realized my clutch cable snapped and that popping sound was a single strand breaking everytime I heard it. And of course out of all the places to pull over I stopped in the ghetto....... hell of way to end a night.
Just had to vent that, whew, i feel better.
also to add to the adventures of the night I had a WRX try to race me, he left me at the light but tehn again if I had raced him i probably wouldnt have made it that far
