Default Checked your airbag yet?

Just wondering if any of you all that bought used cars have checked your airbags yet (if you havent heard about this, where have you been?). Its crazy some of the stuff found where the airbag was supposed to be. rags, plastic bags, on dateline they had a car with a block of wood with nails stick out in there! thats sick.i checked mine and thankfully, i do have a real one......but they say 1 in 25 out there have airbag fraud.....just thought this might be an interesting topic.

....you're safe if you buy "new"..........I still haven't figured out what the "recycled airbag" means yet......

Recycled air bag should be out of a junked car . (Undeployed)

I see used car lots putting cars back on the road , that should be scrapped .
I doubt they're putting air bags back in any of their cars .

airbags? we don't need no stinkin' airbags...

I think maybe if I were buying a used car I might possibly worry - new ones shouldn't be an issue - there's this thing about compliance (yes, I'm sure, I make cars for a living...) and quality control.......If you're buying a used car, just have it checked out before writing the check !

Heh , well , I want to get rid of my airbag . I figure if I'm going fast enough then I'm screwed anyhow . I dont need the airbag to break my nose on the way out

I was surprised to find out how much the damn things cost............
I can see the Used Car Salesmen now ..........
.........."Oh, yeah, we replace the airbags in all our cars.....absolutely-dutely sir!"

...I don't know if a dealership is required by law to replace airbags in cars they sell.......
.....I'm fairly confident they need to devulge the fact they aren't installed in a vehicle that originally came with them...........for liability purposes.......
