Default 69 Stang with wash off paint???

Hi, new Member, Ford all the way, ''had'' 83 Mustang rag top

I have seen and heard of some amazing tales when it comes to pre-production cars but this one takes first prize! LOL

Fellow on another message board (non Car board) Claims to have been invited by Ford to attend this in San Diego in 1968.

edeted due to lenght quote>>> I was to see the 69 Stang 6 months prior to the rest of the auto world seeing it. It was a hard top. The trunk lid and passenger door was a painted line, the car body was fiberglass and the chrome done in bare metal foil. The car body was on a 1957 Frod chassis. Took photos of a red Stang to then come back later to see a green Stang. Ford had a special paint that they could wash off so they could take photos of two different cars in the same day.

Is there someone out there that could posibly verify this IMO tall tale?? I connot find any info what so ever about wash off paint, 1957 Ford frames still used in 1968-9 etc,,,for a Mustang,,,,LOL

Completely possible, even back then.

Clay and fiberglass models are many times re-used just by changing the colors, not necesarilly using a "wash out" paint, but repainted.

The part of the bumpers being "foiled" could be bogus, but entirely possible.

Shelby repainted his first Shelby Cobra on many ocassions to make the Magazines and others beleive there was more than one prototype.

I'm suddenly hearing the cannonball run theme in my head, LOL.
Especially useful in the above situation
