Default Want some wheels that weigh under 6 POUNDS?

http://speed.supercars.net/PitLane?v...28336&bottom=0

some good reading guys. The carbon fiber wheeels with magnesium center weighed in at about 8 lbs. They were also talking about making a hollow titanium based spokes with expected weight at 5 lbs! Imagine the possibilities. The only thing i want to see heavily scrutinized is the safety/ strength of the wheels. I dont want to be riding on some wheels and have them shatter all the while me going off a cliff. A big one. Dying.

Question of the day is:

How much?!

im pretty sure that they cost about 1500 a piece, so 6 grand for a set of 4, 18 inches. Just think of how much weight youre cutting off. Oh and about the looks, true its carbon fiber but they can tint the fibers to just about any color.

very true, and as would I. But isnt it worth it just to roll the wheels around the house and lay them in the garage so when friends come over you can point and say "yeah theyre carbon fiber.....no big deal" if anything they would make great wall mounts
