Default Need recommendatins on infant car seat

Well, Twister and I are expecting in late October. I've either got to find a rear facing infant seat that will fit well in the 02, without pushing the passenger seat all the way forward or trade in my vert for something "more mommy-ish". Of course I really want to keep my stang so I've been researching just about every car seat on the market. If anybody has any personal experience with a seat that fits well, please list it here.

Thanks!!!

Jenn, does the '02 have that locking latch system? If so just get a good rear facing car seat and put in the center position. That should solve the problem...

No, it doesn't. Also, a car seat will not fit in the center because there is a hump in the seat that would cause the baby seat to rock. We figured that out because we thought about adding a center seat belt, but it just won't work.

Not sure specifically about the car seat situation, but I can tell that the 05 has significantly more room in the back and also deeper seats.

At least if you have to change vehicles, you can stay out of the "mommy-ish" catagory with a new Mustang :thumbsup

Nope, while an 05 would have a bigger back seat it still wouldn't have a lot of room for baby gear. Also, if I'm gonna drive a stang it has to be a vert and I hate the 05 verts!!! If I have to trade in my stang I'm getting a Dodge Magnum.

I have a 7 mounth old , and his carseat is made by GRACO and it fits in the back passenger side of the Mustang fairly good with enough room in the front.
But that is without the base, just with the seatbelt securing the carseat.
I tried to put the base in, but there is no room .

Not sure if this would help, but I do know that Recaro makes baby car seats. Just get one of those and then you can say you have Recaro seats. My wife is due in Sept. and Im gonna try and convince her to let me get the all black Recaro baby car seat!
