I'm trying to decide between a vert and a coupe. It's a personal thing I know, but your input to the pros and cons of both might make the decision a little easier. The GT will be driven year round in northern Illinois.
I have owned both, an '03 Coupe and an '04 Vert, both GT's. The Coupe was nice and all but the fact that on a hot summer day you're either hoping for a little breeze or running around with the A/C on is a huge detractor for me now that I've experienced a 'vert. I absolutely adore the 'vert. Yeah it's a little louder and take a bit longer to warm up the interior in the winter, the whole thing shimmies a little whenever you hit a hard pothole, but there's no substitute for riding around with the wind in your hair on a hot summer day. The cool factor is way higher too for a 'vert. The only real downside is the extra money for the car and then insurance is a tad higher also.

Verts have a cool factor coupes just can’t compare to, they are slightly more expensive and less structurally sound but once you go topless…………………

I argued with myself when I bought my 04....vert..no, coupe, no, vert...decided on the coupe because I think if you have a vert, the top oughta be down when it's >50 degrees outside..unfortunately, it gets TOO hot in Alabama in July/August to have the top down, and the only time I would ever use the AC was if it was raining....long story short, I bought the coupe....but kick myself every day (spring/fall) when it's 75 and sunny......

Well I live in Louisiana where it is 100 degrees and 150% humidity in August,.. and you can bet the top will be down when its sunny. Verts rule. If going fast is your only care though Verts are heavier and coupes can handle more power. I love my Vert

It's all up to you man. Go and test drive both and make your own decision. Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one, and their all different. Happy car hunting .
Convertibles take more work, have more moving parts therefore more to go wrong. Converts are less secure, less comfy in the winter, more noisy all the time. The bodies aren't as stiff as a coupe, therefore generally can't be made to go as fast. They are also no good in a roll-over. Rag-Tops get dirtier and are harder to clean.
However, the less of them on the road......the more resale value my surviving family will have when I die....cause that is when I'm getting rid of my rag-top !!
